We can’t thank Kristin and the team enough for making our engagement an incredible evening we will never forget. Everyone who helped my fiancee plan the proposal went above and beyond and made sure every last detail was perfect. And to make our stay even better the suite we stayed in was beautiful and the food was fantastic - we couldn’t fault a single thing and would love to come back!

What a find! From the warm welcome from Holly on reception, through the beautiful building and the room to the wonderful staff, this is a hotel which cares. We stayed for.two nights on DBB basis and had nothing but praise. The cozy bar was well stocked and and had a good atmosphere. The restaurant is in a beautiful room and well laid out with a mixture of booths and table sizes. The menu is good and varied with some interesting local twists. The service was excellent. Sophie and Sam being attentive and friendly. The restaurant was well staffed. The hotel is well located to explore the Dumfries coast and surrounding countryside. Even our check out, again with the very professional and friendly, Holly, was personal and caring. Great place to stay.
Came in late evening to check in after a lovely meal beautiful grounds, love the great big lions at the entrance. Lovely lady at reception booked us in the weather was really bad out side and she gave us an upgrade to a superior room as in photos very happy with the hotel and rooms are spacious clean and well presented bed is very comfortable and had a great night sleep. The staff are great and friendly breakfasts was delicious would stay here again in a heartbeat
What a fabulous place. A lovely driveway then you arrive at the lovely hotel. There is ample parking and it is in such a lovely setting. Check in was easy and the inside of hetland hall is lovely with fires and lovely chandeliers. Our room was nice with a great view, I only marked it down due to the bathroom tap was leaking and when you switched it off it sounded like a seal. The food was delicious and the setting for dinner again was lovely. The staff work very hard and were pleasant. Highly recommend staying here and will probably stay here again.
Me and my partner are just back from a valentines night away. We stayed in room 104 and would definitely request this room again. Everything was on point from the food down to the cleanliness of the hotel. A special appreciation to the receptionist Cyprian who couldn’t have done more to help and answered any questions we had. Probably one of the best hotel stays we have had and will definitely be returning.
Lovely hotel. We were in the solway suite which was amazing. Can't fault dinner and breakfast - all good portions. Bar staff friendly although was quiet when we were in after our meal. Lovely log fires in tge bar and sitting area in the lobby. We will definitely return.
Thank you for making our wedding day so perfect! The hotel is just stunning, food just perfect, rooms are gorgeous and all our guests were very happy with their rooms.
